Meet
Maggie Landis
Massage therapist, movement teacher, Qigong practitioner, and author helping people build a more compassionate relationship with their bodies.
A different kind of bodywork begins with listening
Maggie Landis believes the body is not something to push past, fix, or force into submission.
It is something to listen to.
Her work is rooted in the belief that the body carries wisdom. Through touch, movement, breath, and awareness, Maggie helps clients notice what their bodies have been trying to communicate — often long before pain, stiffness, stress, or exhaustion becomes impossible to ignore.
Her sessions are calm, thoughtful, and deeply attuned. Whether she is offering massage therapy, guiding mindful movement, or teaching Eight Silk Weaving Qigong, Maggie’s work begins with presence.
Not a formula. Not a routine. Not a one-size-fits-all plan.
A conversation with the body.
My Story
Maggie’s love of movement, health, play, and the outdoors has been part of her life for as long as she can remember.
Through years of adventure, exploration, study, and practice, she has been guided, coached, and mentored by teachers she considers among the best in their fields. Those experiences helped shape her understanding of the body — not as something to control or force, but as something to listen to, support, and work with.
Over more than 25 years of working with people, Maggie has developed her own intuitive and practical style. She combines professional knowledge with careful listening, lived experience, and trust in the body’s natural intelligence.
Her principles are simple:
- Build a strong foundation.
- Keep the process simple.
- Make movement part of everyday life.
Maggie’s desire is to help each person find the right style of movement and body care for their own life — something that feels supportive, sustainable, and even enjoyable.
Maggie’s Approach
we need something here
Maggie brings together therapeutic bodywork, movement education, integrative wellness planning, and Qigong to support people who want to feel more connected, mobile, grounded, and at ease.
Her approach is especially supportive for people who are:
Maggie meets each client where they are. She listens closely, observes carefully, and creates a session, practice, or plan that reflects the person in front of her.
Movement, wellness, and body care for real life
we need something here
Maggie has been involved in the world of health and fitness for more than 25 years, running her own wellness business in New York City and supporting clients through massage therapy, movement, fitness, yoga, and integrative body care.
Her work has expanded to include both in-person and virtual support, allowing clients to receive thoughtful guidance from wherever they are.
Depending on a client’s needs, Maggie’s support may include:
At the center of this work is Maggie’s belief that wellness should feel realistic, adaptable, and connected to everyday life. .
More than a session. A return to relationship.
we need something here
For many people, wellness becomes another thing to achieve.
Maggie’s work offers another way.
Rather than asking clients to strive harder, perform better, or override discomfort, she invites them into a more honest relationship with the body they already have. Her approach creates room to slow down, notice what is present, and begin working with the body instead of against it.
That may look like therapeutic massage to release long-held tension.
It may look like slow, intentional movement to restore confidence.
It may look like Qigong practice to support breath, balance, and inner steadiness.
It may look like learning how to pause and feel again.
Over time, this kind of care can help clients build trust in their bodies and recognize the subtle ways healing begins to unfold.
The work is gentle, but it is not passive. It asks for attention. It builds awareness. It creates space for change to happen from the inside out.
Trust / Experience
A lifelong devotion to the body’s intelligence
Maggie’s work has grown from years of study, practice, and direct experience with the healing power of touch and movement.
As a massage therapist, she understands how the body holds tension, compensation, stress, and memory.
As a movement teacher and trainer, she helps people rebuild trust in their own strength, coordination, and capacity.
As a Qigong practitioner, she brings attention to breath, energy, rhythm, and the subtle ways the body can return to balance.
As an author, she shares her insights beyond the session room, offering reflections and resources for those who want to continue learning and practicing.
At the center of all of it is one steady belief:
The body knows the way back. Sometimes it simply needs support remembering.
What clients can expect
Working with Maggie is not rushed or transactional.
Clients can expect a grounded, supportive environment where they
are listened to, respected, and guided with care.
A calm beginning
Each session begins with where you are that day — physically, emotionally, and energetically — with space to listen, settle, and feel supported.
Personalized support
Maggie draws from massage therapy, movement, Qigong, fitness, and body awareness to create care that fits your needs, goals, and body that day.
Practical insight
You leave with a deeper understanding of your body and simple ways to support yourself between sessions, so care can continue gently at home too.
A respectful pace
Maggie’s work honors the nervous system. Nothing is forced. The goal is to create conditions where the body can soften, strengthen, and respond.
The heart of Maggie’s work
Maggie’s clients often come to her because something feels off in the body.
They stay because the work helps them feel more connected to themselves.
Her work is for people who are ready to stop treating the body like an obstacle and begin relating to it as a partner.
It is for people who want to age with more grace, move with more confidence, rest with more ease, and feel more present in daily life.
It is for people who are curious about healing that is not loud, rushed, or performative.
It is for people who are ready to come home to their body
A note from Maggie
I believe the body is always communicating with us.
Sometimes it speaks through tension. Sometimes through fatigue. Sometimes through pain, hesitation, or the quiet sense that something needs attention.
My work is about creating a space where you can listen.
Whether we are working through massage, movement, wellness planning, or Qigong, my intention is to help you feel supported, connected, and more at home in yourself.
You do not have to arrive with everything figured out.
You only have to begin where you are.
